Maurice Wai-fung NGAI

Dr. Maurice Ngai is a member of Working Group on Professional Services under the Economic Development Commission of HKSAR (2013-2018), the President of the Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries (2014-2015), a General Committee member of The Chamber of Hong Kong Listed Companies, a member of Qualification and Examination Board of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountant (2013-2018), the Adjunct Professor of Law of Hong Kong Shue Yan University (2014-2017) and Finance Expert Consultant of Chinese Ministry of Finance. He is a chartered secretary and a certified public accountant. Dr. Ngai possesses more than 30 years’ unique corporate and professional experience, working in senior management posts of company secretary, executive director and CFO. He has served as an independent non-executive director of very reputable listed companies, such as China Life, China Railway, China Railway Construction and China Coal and an external director of Sinochem. Currently, serves as an independent non-executive director of China Communication Construction and Bosideng.

Dr. Ngai is also the founder and CEO of SWCS Corporate Services Group (Hong Kong) Limited (a specialty service provider, which is rendering company secretarial, compliance and corporate governance as well as risk management services to listed companies and IPO cases of over 100 companies. From 2014 and up to now, SWCS was ranked the top- service provider consecutively in IPO market in rendering the above services). Prior to that, he had worked in the capacity of a director and the head of listing services for a corporate services arm spun off from big 4 accounting firm company for more than five years and successfully created a service practice to support a number of listed companies among which are fortune 500 enterprises in the Mainland and other countries and earned high regard in the outsourcing company secretarial practice. Dr. Ngai had developed his expertise in the areas of IPOs, M&As and corporate finance during his early corporate life. As a recognized governance and finance expert, he is frequently invited to speak on regulatory compliance, corporate governance and internal control subjects in Hong Kong and the Mainland.

Dr. Ngai is a fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries, a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries in the UK, a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a fellow of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in the United Kingdom, a fellow of Hong Kong Institute of Directors, a member of Hong Kong Securities Institute and a member of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators

Dr. Ngai obtained a Bachelor’s degree in law (honour), a Master’s degree in Corporate Finance and a Master’s degree in Business Administration and a Doctorate in Economics (Finance).
